Why Choose to Adopt in China?
Chinese children are well cared for and are generally healthy. The Chinese adoption process is a very structured and stable process. There are usually no unexpected changes or requirements. The Chinese adoption process is considered one of the best international programs.
China - The Country
China, The People’s Republic of China, is one of the world’s most ancient civilizations. The nation was ruled by one dynasty after another until 1911 when Dr. Sun Yat-sen started a revolution overthrowing the emperor. Communists led by Mao Zedong drove the nationalists away. The People’s Republic of China was formed on October 1, 1949. Great changes have come to China over the years and the current situation is considered to be the best it has ever been. The country is located in East Asia. Its vast territory is endowed with many natural resources. The majority of the people live in the basin and the fertile east where rivers and plains enable them to farm. Beijing is the capital of the People’s Republic of China and the country is divided into 23 provinces.
Children Available
Children available for adoption are infants, toddlers, and children up to the age of 13 years. Families interested in an infant usually receive a referral between the ages of 6 to 18 months. The majority of children available are girls, approximately 95%. The Adoption Law in China does not permit the adoption of more than one child at a time, with the exception of twins or siblings, although these are rare.
Who Is Eligible to Adopt from China?
Couples, 30 to 50 years of age, with 4 children or less living in the home are allowed to adopt from China. China does not accept single parents. The income requirement from China is $10, 000 per person living in the home (including adopted child) and family net assets of $80, 000.
